KC SHOCK GIRLS BASKETBALL 2nd grade-HS Teams

"Sports build confidence and character"

  • -KC Shock is a 2nd grade through High School  Girls Basketball program, that focuses on player development.  All of our coaches are current high school, middle school or ex-college players.

  • -We offer multiple teams and they are combined together based on like skill level. We believe players thrive when playing with other players of similar skill set.

  • -We play in the KC Premiere League which is played at SMSD schools and on Sundays.   We also offer local tournaments opportunities, but they are not required,, just offered for players who want to play more than just league. Players who are just beginning to experience the game of basketball are as valued by Shock as the players on our Elite Teams.

  • -We have 5 sessions throughout the year. Fall, Winter 1, Winter 2, Spring and Summer. Some players play year round and others sit out some sessions due to other activities. 95% of our players are multi-sport athletes.
  • We believe valuable lessons are learned and character is developed by playing or participating in a variety of activities. We do not ask our players to choose one sport over another, we work hard to provide flexible practice schedules to accommodate our multi-sport athletes.    That is why we offer team practices on Mondays or Tuesdays, to provide the flexibility to play while also participating in another activity at the same time.  You don't have to settle, we provide all levels of competitive teams, while also allowing you to play other sports at the same time.   That is the main reason we don't travel much and do everything local.   We will however take our top teams out of town here and there is that particular group wants to and has the time in thier schedules.

  • -We strive to have 2 to 3 high school teams.   We will help push players to continue to play at a high level and develop to play beyond college if that is their desire.   High school teams may or may not play in KC Premiere League.  It's up to each individual team.   Some may rather to play local toournys, some just league and otthers both, league and tourneys.   If we do play in tourneys we will only travel 3 to 4 hours away,

  • -Shock Black-You have 1 team practice a week (Monday or Tuesday) and 7 League games on Sundays.

  • -Shock Green-You have 2 team practices a week and 7League games on Sunday.

  • -We offer Skills Sessions, Shooting and Advanced Shooting on Wednesdasys and Thursdays.   Player development is very important to us.   All the opportintuties needed to get to the next level are available!

Player of the Game Week 4

Week 4

2/3 Wagner- Entire team-Coach Wagner is really happy with the entire team, they have improved so much from the 1st week of the session.   They are looking for the open passes and calling for the ball.   They are all staying with their man on defense and dropping off their man to help their teammates.  Super happy with how focused they were and aggressive.

3rd Ponzer- Kora Becker-Coach Ponzer loved how strong Kora was taking the ball to the basket.    She played aggressive defense which led to several steals!!

3/4th Dennis-Natalie Garcia -Coach Dennis thought this was Natalie’s best game of the session.   She started off focused and ready to go.  She was aggressive on offense and defense.

4th Dennis-Harper Gibson-Coach Dennis thought Harper was really assertive on both ends of the floor.  She took some good shots and was looking to score.

5/6th Beerends-Eliza Turney- Coach thought Eliza worked the hardest rebounding the basketball.   She is always fighting for the ball and finishing around the basket.  She is doing all the scrappy things needed to help her team.

7th Reagan-Lola Jones- Coach Reagan said the team talked about being more aggressive on offense and Lola was just that.   She played with a high level of confidence and took over on the offensive end of the court.   She always works hard on defense, but her ball pressure was really good.   The pressure led to steal for her and her teammates.

7th Grade Riley-Brantley Deters-Coach thought Brantley was a rebounding and scoring machine.   She was all over the court and played aggressive on both ends of the court.

7/8th Green Reagan-Charlotte Mann-Coach thought Charlotte made her lay-ups on the offensive end and was always ready to shoot.   However, defensively her defense lead to steals that started a comeback for the team.

7/8th Dennis-Leah Kroening- Since the other team didn’t show up, we scrimmaged 4 on 4.  Leah was on the winning team after 20 mins.   She got picked by the other team and then that team went on to win.  Not a coincidence, she was good on both ends of the floor.   What stood out to me the most, was her rebounding on both ends.   She is always making a play on the ball.

High School Dennis-Jayden Olsen- Coach appreciates the energy and effort Jayden always plays with.  She always shows up ready to get after it.   She is always talking on the floor and even on the bench.
